Waiting

Do you ever feel that life is spent mostly waiting?

In 70 years, the average person spends at least 3 years waiting. Three years? Waiting on what exactly? That's what I want to know.

Waiting in line.
For a bus.
In a restaurant.
At traffic lights.
In the doctor's office. That's for sure!

If you calculate those 3 years, that would be approximately 4.3% of time spent waiting.

That ends up being about 62 minutes a day.
Just waiting.

I wonder how we could all benefit if we utilized some of those minutes...

Smile at someone.
Say hello.
Talk to God.
Read a page in a book.
Write a note.
Think about someone.
Say a prayer.
Help someone out.
Meditate.

Keep a small bottle of bubbles in your car - for when you're stuck in traffic. It really helps reduce your stress, and I imagine people around you might enjoy it as well. (I did this before I worked from home.)

How do you feel about all the waiting?
What would you do to make the most of that time?

I love the bottle of bubbles idea, although I would fear me chunking it at a nearby car when they cut my butt off.

I am so impatient. If I could learn to wait more patiently, I think I'd gain about 10 years at the end of my life.
