Triple Digits

Our thermometer currently reads 102. I think it was mad earlier today, because it showed the temperature to be 108, and the heat index was 112. You could say it's...

I think these triple digit days have made our air conditioner mad as well. Yesterday after church, we stopped at the store to pick up a card for a baby shower and returned home. After walking inside, we could tell that the AC was having fits. It was 89 degrees inside the house, and the AC wasn't even running. It had not even turned on.

We called our landlord and he called the AC guy. (This would be why we can't "pick" which AC company we use.) Eventually we received calls from both of them, and figured out that our AC unit has a sensor inside that must have overheated, causing the unit to "shut off".

After laying completely still under a fan for a few hours, the AC finally turned on around 6:00 pm. We notified the other parties involved and enjoyed the fact that it had cooled down to 80 degrees in the house.

Today, around 11:30 am, the AC wasn't turning on. I checked a few things and turned it off for two hours. The best part? (Read: sarcasm) It was 86 degrees in the house. I had the ceiling fans on, but there isn't one in my office. I grabbed a smaller fan from the garage and had it pointing on me while I worked. That made a huge difference.

Are you wondering why I needed to shut the AC off? We were told that if we turn it off, and wait two hours, it will reset itself and then start working again. That's the "big solution" right now.

Wheeeeeeee.
I'm so ready to move.

You can come to my house to work, Hol, but J would have an awful commute! I am sorry you are still having troubles. I'll pray for a cool front and rain!

Love,

Sounds like it's time to ask for a discount on your rent! So sorry to hear of your delimma. The public Library is a nice quiet place to take a lap top and set up a home office :-). Most Libraries these days also have their computers hooked up to the internet as well. I'll pray for cool weather to blow your way.

I swear it is like listening to myself! :) Sunday night I just burst out into tears because of the stupid ac and it being so hto in our house, even though it is running NON STOP. Our last electric bill was 350.00 because of that crap! I am praying for the fall.
