Mixed Feelings

I have good news and mixed feelings about it.

Last Thursday I talked to a friend who works at a marketing company. She said they are looking for a graphic designer to do some of their overflow work. Sign me up! We talked and I gave her my information, website, business card, etc. I hope to be hearing from them soon.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, I have a meeting (aka: interview) with a possible client. It's actually a printer who might be able to give me some design work. That's great, and I really hope it works out.

Wednesday, I have an interview with a company for an art director position. I have mixed feelings, because I don't know if this is where I need to be. As usual I'm jumping the gun. My emotions are making me question the company and position. What I need to do is, get the interview over with, learn more about the company (that I haven't been able to find out from their website), and pray about it.

Why is it that I make a mountain out of a mole hill? I don't even know if they'll offer me the job yet. Even if they do, I don't have to take it, if it's not right for me. I've been doing a lot of talking to the big man upstairs. I've prayed for guidance, wisdom, peace, and for Him to show me what I need to do and where I need to go.

You know what? I'm uncomfortable, scared, unhappy, and nervous, but I'm going to become a better person because of it. It's difficult to see and believe right now, but it will all turn out just fine.

I'm really "leaning" on this scripture right now. When I feel like I'm crumbling, about to break down, and just wanting to ask why, when, how...

I look at my desktop.

"Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth."
- Psalms 46:10

Be still. Don't worry. Don't question. God is in control.
Yes, He is in control and I need to remember that.

mommiebear2 - It's my computer desktop right now. (Usually I have them rotate.)

biddy - Thank you. You are so correct! I'll take "fear not, God will provide" 365 days a year! :)

Don't forget Jeremiah 29:11!

"For I know the plans I have for you", declares the Lord,"plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future".

I have to admit though, waiting is the worst. May Gods peace and blessings be with you as you(and HE) shape your career.

That's a great Scripture to be meditating on right now! And, like you said, you don't have to take the job if it's not right for you. Praying God gives you peace and direction in the next few days.

I pray that God will make it abundantly clear to you what you should do.

I am happy you have some leads! Each job has pros and cons. I'll pry that things work out for the best for you. A job isn't indentured servitude, so you can leave if you feel like the cons outweigh the pros.

The only pitfall I see is that you have too many choices and might turn down one offer because your idea of a "con" might not actually be one. Sounds like you question the quality of the company for the art director job. Keep me posted and I'll keep praying! (I would be anyway!)
