In honor of Mardi Gras (not really), I'm making jambalaya again.
This time I made sure the heat is turned down low, and I have a timer set to check on it.
There's no burning allowed tonight!
I actually thought about making some gumbo. Then I realized that we needed to use the sausage first. J and I actually prefer chicken and shrimp gumbo, over sausage gumbo. So jambalaya it is.
It will be nice after the thunderstorms we had.
Speaking of which, we had a nice steady rain earlier today. I decided most of my houseplants needed to get out in the rain to knock the dust off their leaves, and have a good long drink. It was so much of one, that I eventually had to move them on our porch for shelter. A few plants were looking slightly beaten down, and I wanted to avoid any breakage.

That was once a very small plant, but it shot up rather quickly.
*Beeeeeeep*
Well, what do you know? I didn't burn it this time.
[Pats self on the back.]
Now for J to come home from work. He wasn't supposed to work until 6, but in shipping that happens. Late orders, delayed shipments, problems, and waiting on a phone call or email is fairly normal.
I hear him now.
Off to grab plates and eat.
