Easter Gas

Our trek to my grandparents house for Easter was wonderful. We got there Friday evening, while my mom had gone to the airport to pick up my dad. Almost as soon as we walked in the door, I was holding my niece, A.

Total bliss

Talk about being oblivious to everything else. I was immediately smitten with her. J unpacked the car, and I felt bad for not being able to help, since I had a baby in my arms. He just smiled, and told me it was okay.

Sweet little A. I miss you already!

There's just something about my sister's little ones. I seem to have a knack for getting them to relax and quiet down.

A didn't even spit up on me. Sorry Dad, I think you're the king of spit up for the weekend.

Last July, I went to Oregon for Z's first birthday. Normally he is slow to warm up to people, especially ones he hasn't seen in a while. I squatted down, and he came right up to me, holding onto my arm to pull himself up to standing, and then he let me hold him.

My sister told me that he has never done that with anyone before. I guess I'm special.
[wink]

Honestly, I think it's because I look very similar to my sister. Z and A probably see the resemblance, and feel secure.

I bet you can see the similarities.

The "greats". Great Grandma and Great Grandpa.

A had tummy aches this weekend from gas - which she wasn't really burping out. In the evenings she would be a little fussy, but really not bad at all. If I was holding her, we'd rock and bounce a little to help her tummy. She would relax, and soon her little eyes would just droop. Off to dreamland.

Four generations. My sister, my mom, me, my grandma, and A.

Both Z and A were/are such calm and "easy" babies. They both eat well, sleep pretty well, and don't cry a whole lot. I'm praying that when I have children, they will be similar.

We could do without exploding diapers though.
[grin]

Easter morning, A slept through most of church. She woke up hungry right before communion, and my sister took her into the nursery. At lunch, my sister told us all that we should be glad they were in the nursery. After A, ate, she tooted really loudly and we would have all been giggling during one of the quietest moments of church.

Way to go A! Poor thing, she just needed to get all the air bubbles out.

Proud aunt and uncle.

I should be getting more pictures from my dad soon. I can't wait!

We missed you Z, and P. Hope to see you next time.

Thanks, Hol, for posting these pictures. Since you had posted earlier about who would be there, I had a weekend of thinking about how much fun you were having, Now, I see that my thoughts were only half as fun as the real thing!

Thanks for sharing!
