Kira, Kir-a-boo, Puppers, Kira Marie, Boo-bear, Cuddle Bug, we love you so much. Like any serious dog
Today we celebrate your birthday. You're our beautiful four year old pup. It's hard to imagine that four years ago, J and I had been married about five months, when we took that step to get a puppy. I'm so glad we did!
Maybe that face is why daddy slept on the floor with you the first couple nights. You cried, and cried, and even howled a bit. You were too little to see us way up high on the bed, and we made the mistake of not having your kennel ready. We all grew together, learning as we went. While we did most things right, it's no question that we made a few mistakes along the way.
You have always been daddy's little girl. The two of you bonded right away. Rough-housing, playing chase, and barking at each other.
The last year or two, you and I have grown closer. It has helped that I've been working from home. You are a little shadow, and love to have me in your sight. When I don't see you, all I need to do is check your favorite spots; by the sliding glass door, on the bed, or by our bedroom window. You're always on the lookout for your "buddies". The little squirrel friends who tease you so, but you always give them a run for their money.
The kind couple who bred their two Aussies, called you "Princess", and we can see why. You are the sweetest, most loving, and cuddly pup that we know of.
Sleeping soundly, after playing hard with your brothers and sisters. Little did we know that you would have us wrapped around your tiny little paw - almost immediately.
You have traits that make us wonder if you aren't part cat; the rubbing, arching, batting things with your paws, scratching at the grass when you go out. You are unique, and always make us smile.
We have watched you grow and learn about the things around you. Playing, running, jumping, and successfully graduating from all the training classes you went through. You have always been such a smart girl. Almost too smart for us.
J and I have loved these four years with you. We come home to you, so happy, excited, and affectionate. You love without question, and you know when we're sad. Just coming up beside us and laying that warm little chin on our laps melts our hearts.
Tired from play, stretching out your little legs,
to cool your belly. You continue to do this even now.
to cool your belly. You continue to do this even now.
Happy birthday Blue Sugar Sunkist Kira.
We love you!

Pets Love
A companion, a pal,
A very best friend.
Someone to trust,
To love 'til the end.
Someone to trust,
When feeling blue.
Always a smile,
T'always greet you.
Always a smile,
To dry up your tears.
A person to be there,
To quiet your fears.
A person to be there,
When lonely or sad.
Loving regardless,
If hating or mad.
Loving regardless,
If caring or cruel.
No matter what,
Genius or fool.
No matter what,
They stand by you.
Who is this person,
Have you a clue?
Who is this person?
I'll tell you who.
This is your pet,
That loves through 'n through.

Dog lovers poem
My dogs live here, they're here to stay.
you don't like pets, be on your way.
they share my home, my food, my space
this is their home, this is their place.
You will find dog hair on the floor,
they will alert you're at the door.
they may request a little pat,
a simple 'no' will settle that.
It gripes me when I hear you say
'just how is it you live this way?
they smell, they shed, they're in the way.'
WHO ASKED YOU? is all I can say.
They love me more than anyone,
my voice is like the rising sun,
they merely have to hear me say
'C'mon , time to go and play'
then tails wag and faces grin,
they bounce and hop and make a din.
They never say 'no time for you',
they're always there, to GO and DO.
and if I'm sad? They're by my side
and if I'm mad? they circle wide
and if I laugh, they laugh with me
they understand, they always see.
So once again, I say to you
come visit me, but know this too...
My dogs live here, they're here to stay.
you don't like pets, be on your way.
they share my home, my food, my space
this is their home, this is their place.
