Where did the two of you meet?
- We met our freshman year of college and became friends.
What was the first thought that went through your head when you first met him?
- That he was nice and had a lot of the same friends I did.
Do you remember what he was wearing?
- One particular time that I remember, he was wearing a Nike windbreaker and was using crutches because of his ankle being hurt (either broken or sprained).
Where did you go for your first date?
- To a movie.
Where was the first time you kissed?
- We were looking at the stars while sitting on top of a water tank in west Texas. We talked about anything and everything, just getting to know more things about each other. It wasn't necessarily expected either. We wanted to kiss one another previous to this "date", but didn't want to rush it, so when it happened it seemed to be the right time. (I don't recall exactly how long we had been dating before we kissed. I thought it might have been a month, but now I'm not so sure that is correct.)
When was the first time you realized you liked him?
- We were at a friend's house and J had asked me if I had any girl friends I could hook him up with. ;) I couldn't think of any at the time, but told him I would let him know if I did. (Funny. We didn't even think about dating each other at first.) After J realized I wasn't dating anyone, he asked me out.
I guess it may have been our first or second date when I realized I liked him. J opened the car door for me, and instinctively I reached over and opened his door from inside the car. Something just clicked in my head and I realized he was a nice guy. Of course there were other things he did, like cooking dinner for me one night. I didn't much care for pork, but the pork chops he made were actually very good. He still gives me a hard time about not really liking ham/pork.
How long did you know him before you became a couple?
- About two and a half to three years. Like I wrote above, we had been friends before we ever started dating.
How did he propose to you?
- We went grocery shopping and bought some mini M&M's in a small Easter themed container along with the rest of our groceries. One evening after we ate dinner, I was checking my email and J asked if I wanted some M&M's. I had forgotten we had any so I told him sure. He had me hold out my hand while he poured some M&M's into it. I wasn't really looking, and felt something heavy hit my palm. When I looked, I saw a metal and shiny object. I picked it up and looked at it, as my eyes welled up. It was an engagement ring! Then J proposed to me, I said yes, we laughed, and called our families to tell them the news.
Do you have kids together?
- Not yet.
Have you ever broken the law together?
- No. Not that I'm aware of.
Do you trust him?
- Yes, absolutely.
Do you see him as your partner in your future?
- Yes, of course. For us there isn't another option.
What is the best gift he gave you?
- One Christmas he got me a real Navy pea coat along with gloves and a scarf to go with it. I don't know if it was the "best" gift ever, but it's pretty nice!
Then there is also how he supports my dream, to let me work from home as a graphic designer. That's a pretty big "gift" if you ask me!
Where do you see each other 15 years from now?
- Still very much in love, and hopefully with children.
What causes the most arguments?
- Probably money issues, but who doesn't have arguments about that?
How long have you been together?
- Dating: about 4 years Married: 5 years = almost 10 years total.
Now you play!
