Glad that it was all patch up but leave me to think why the previous owner created that hole.

After talking to our neighbors the previous owners were mad because they were foreclosed on. The previous owners thought that ruining things inside the home would "teach" the bank something. In all actuality the bank never lived here or saw the house, they just owned the loan and sold the house.
